Martyrs of the Mud

Hem / Benjamin Bollman / Martyrs of the Mud

“Because a battlefield is nothing without its martyrs.”
In the boundless fields of mud, trodden by forgotten soldiers in forgotten wars, and where devotion and decay are reciprocal, the bodies of the fallen manifest the fate of the vast majority of soldiers. Their faith rotted, their meat fetid and hosts to grub they are now relics – A consecration of corpses by Hell, but also a macabre tribute to those who inhabited these trenches but died standing, screaming, pleading, leaking, and tormented by the wills of the elite as well as the enemies of mankind.
